If you can’t reblog this…
Objectification and body shaming in PETA ads (an introduction).
If you’re interested at all in becoming an animal rights advocate, my advice is to just look at whatever PETA does and do the exact opposite.
I’ve always hated PETA, here is one reason why.
I’m tired of seeing white people treating poor countries as if they were their very special emotional playground.
Racists travel to under developed countries under the guise of ‘appreciating their culture’ or ‘searching for themselves’ (whatever that means) or any other seemingly thoughtful premise.. They enjoy the ‘exotic’ foods, marvel at the ‘exotic’ landscapes, snap photos (without asking first) of those very ‘exotic’ natives.
They have profound revelations about how in the western world we have much more commodities than necessary, and how these poor rural simpletons are so happy with the little they own, cause they’re blissful savages, much less complex than the average white US citizen.
Some of them even manage to say utterly disrespectful stuff (e.g.’oh look at these people living in the middle of nowhere’ (cameron diaz) or that ‘they defecate in the woods ‘hunched like animals’ (drew barrymore) and the worst part is, they don’t even seem to realize.
… Then they go back to their countries, with a serious white savior complex, and show all their relatives photos those wonderful, smiling exotic natives, just before complaining about illegal immigrants taking all their jobs.
This probably won’t get any notes but…
Reblog to get a dress based on your blog!
I promise to do every single one, even if it takes me forever.
Here’s an example:
Edit: Due to the unexpected popularity of this, I will only be taking notes until the end of August. There’s no way i could keep this up when I’m in school.
Even though I don’t like him calling anyone a bitch, this scene is a crucial part of Connie’s development to me.
Connie is characterized as the group idiot, the guy who screws up, the guy who doesn’t have two neurons to rub together in his head. But—this shows you, if you’re paying close attention, that Connie is simply not conventionally bright.
Connie’s the one who runs to Armin to see if he’s okay. Armin doesn’t have to say much of anything—he understands, just by watching them, that something dreadful happened.
His foil, Ymir, reacts coldly to Armin’s mental state, to which Connie blindly defends his friend.
Connie’s emotional and social intelligence is higher than almost anyone on the team.
He understands people, first and foremost. Give him a math problem, and sure, he’ll probably sit there. But a crisis with his friends? Connie’s the man for that job.

Egyptian City Found Underwater
1,200 years ago the ancient Egyptian city of Heracleion disappeared beneath the Mediterranean. Founded around 8th century BC, it is believed Heracleion served as the obligatory port of entry to Egypt for all ships coming from the Greek world.
Prior to its discovery in 2000 by archaeologist Franck Goddio and the European Institute for Underwater Archaeology, no trace of Thonis-Heracleion had been found (the city was known to the Greeks as Thonis).
The IEASM were able to locate, map and excavate parts of the city of Thonis-Heracleion, which lies 6.5 kilometers off today’s coastline about 150 feet underwater in the western part of Aboukir Bay.
Findings to date include:
- The remains of more than 64 ships buried in the thick clay and sand that covers the sea bed
- Gold coins and weights made from bronze and stone
- Giant 16-ft statues along with hundreds of smaller statues of minor gods
- Slabs of stone inscribed in both ancient Greek and ancient Egyptian
- Dozens of small limestone sarcophagi believed to have once contained mummified animals
- Over 700 ancient anchors for ships
To figure out how the city was completely lost and submerged in the ocean, researchers have developed a number of ideas. Most scientists suggest that the site was affected by geological and cataclysmic phenomena, such as earthquakes, tidal waves and changes in sea level. Analysis of the site also suggests great pressure on the soil with a high clay and water content which can cause sudden submergence under the sea-level.
These factors, whether occurring together or independently, may have caused significant destruction and explain the submergence of Thonis-Heracleion.

Books that people read romantically but shouldn’t because they’re missing the point:
- Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
- Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
- The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
That’s your opinion.
there’s nothing romantic about a pedophile rapist, the senseless murder-suicide of teenagers because families can’t get their shit together or the hypocrisy of the roaring 20s
